The mission of Latino Giving – Houston (LGH) is to encourage philanthropy in the Latino community to support nonprofit organizations serving individuals and families in the Greater Houston Region. The source of our collective giving is a diverse group of philanthropists who are committed to seeing the Houston community thrive. Through the giving circle methodology, the members of LGH learn more about community assets, challenges, and aspirations. Our vision is a Latino community where philanthropy and solidarity are preserved as a tradition and cultural value. In 2026, LGH will award one general operating grant of $5,000 to support a local nonprofit organization serving the Greater Houston Region.  

• Must have a 501(c)3 designation in good standing. 
• Must have a recent (within the last two fiscal years) GuideStar profile with gold of platinum designation. 
• Operating budget must not exceed $5,000,000.
•  Governance and internal operations must align with the LGH mission.
• Services must be delivered in the Greater Houston Region.
• Must be in operation for three years or more. 
• Have offices or installations in the Greater Houston Region.
• Must have inclusive organizational practices and policies without discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, ability, age, religion, and immigration status. 
• Current or previous LGH grantees must wait two calendar years before re-applying.  

• Partisan, political lobbying, or legislative activities.
• Memorials, private foundations, or endowments.
• Legal expenses incurred in any action by or against the organization.
• Fundraising activities such as events, fund drives, or annual appeals.
• Fraternal, sectarian, and religious organizations where the grant is intended for the principal benefit of the organization’s members or adherents, or where the grant is intended for inherently religious activities.

• Grant Orientation: A virtual orientation for potential grant applicants will be offered Wednesday April 29, 2026 at 12 p.m. To register, please email us at lgh@ghcf.org.  
• Application Deadline: Grant applications must be received by Friday, May 29, 2026.
• Submission: Use the link provided to check eligibility and submit the application package.  Latino Giving Houston Grant Application    
• Review:  The LGH Grant Committee evaluates all applications following a set rubric and selects the top three applications. 
• Finalists: The top three applicants are asked to submit a brief video (less than 4 minutes) to showcase their organizations. Videos (and corresponding applications) are shared with LGH members who vote to select the grant recipient.
• Award Notification: The grant award notification is sent in August and the check presentation takes place during the LGH networking meeting in September.
